Book Club FAQ

Our Book Club is designed for students in Grade 5 and above, including those who:
  • Struggle with reading or haven’t yet found joy in it
  • Love reading and want to deepen their skills
  • Want to improve their writing, especially for personal essays, schoolwork, essay/ writing competition or future university prep
  • We go beyond just reading! Here’s what sets us apart:
  • Dual Track Approach – Tailored for both avid readers and reluctant ones

  • University Prep Angle – Lays foundations for personal essays and critical thinking
  • We use a Personalized Book Matching system.
  • Upon enrollment, your child will complete a brief reading assessment
  • Based on their reading level, age group, and interests, we handpick a monthly book that is engaging yet appropriately challenging.
  • In a year, students typically read:
  • 3 full-length novels
  • 2 short stories or novellas
  • 1 graphic novel
  • No worries! Thats why we are here!
    We provide:
  • Gentle reading goals and reminders via WhatsApp
  • Mid-month check-ins to tackle any reading roadblocks
  • Guided support to help your child stay motivated and enjoy the process
  • Session 1 (Mid-month check-in):
  • We review reading progress, discuss initial reactions, and engage in interactive activities related to the book.
  • Session 2 (End-of-month deep-dive):
  • We delve into deeper discussions about the book’s themes, characters, plot points, and engage in reflective exercises to enhance comprehension and critical thinking. Each session will also have a student discussion leader.
  • Absolutely!
  • If they join before or around the midpoint of the current book, we’ll help them catch up with summaries and reading notes.
  • If they join toward the end of the book cycle, we’ll assign an alternative option (like a short story) so they can jump right in.
  • Yes we do!! We regularly share ‘Reading at Home’ tips designed for busy parents and students — simple, effective ways to support your child’s literacy and curiosity beyond our sessions.
