Akshay Maliwal
Founder & CEO, AddedEducation. The Magnolias Resident
Akshay Maliwal received offers from Yale, UPenn, NYU, and Rice before accepting a prestigious golf scholarship to UC Berkeley. He attended the United World University of South East Asia, where he excelled in GCSE and IB. In high school, Akshay was Golf and Tennis Captain, Economics and Business Club Chair, and a dedicated volunteer with MINDS Singapore.
While pursuing a double major in Economics and Political Science at UC Berkeley, Akshay interned at top investment banks like Deutsche Bank, JPMorgan, and Credit Suisse, which he later joined full-time in Southeast Asia.
Inspired by the desire to give back to the athlete community that he grew up with, Akshay set up AddedEducation in 2013 with his twin sister, Aditi. Over the last decade, AddedEducation has become a global leader in ultrapersonalized higher education student and student-athlete counseling.
With a vision to create a premium education company that nurtures and mentors students, Akshay focuses on delivering tailored programs from pre-University exposure to post-University pastoral care, helping students realize their full potential.
Tushar Liberhan
Deputy General Manager
Tushar Liberhan grew up in Chandigarh and graduated from DPS Delhi with a top score of 92% in Grade 12. A talented tennis player, he represented India in four Junior Grand Slam tournaments and earned admission to New York University, where he built connections with professors and industry leaders. After graduation, he worked at the US Open and alongside tennis legend John McEnroe before shifting his focus to education consulting.
At NYU, Tushar discovered his passion for helping students navigate the admissions process. Drawing from his experience as a competitive athlete, he teaches students to focus on the process, not the results—whether in sports, SAT prep, or University applications. His 8 years at AddedEducation have seen him guide more than 600 students to top universities, including Yale, Brown, Columbia, and Carnegie Mellon.
Now, as Deputy General Manager at AddedEducation, Tushar’s blend of competitive drive and student-centred support helps young leaders realize their potential. His goal is simple: to see students thrive at the universities where they’ll grow and succeed.
