Meet Ross Leebody: The Former Pro Soccer Player Helping Students Realize Their College-Athletics Dreams

We’re thrilled to welcome Ross Leebody to the AddedEducation team as our new Deputy General Manager of Athletics! Ross’s journey from international student-athlete to US college sports leader brings a wealth of experience and heart to our team.

A Scottish Start
Before he was helping students reach top universities, Ross Leebody was a young player in Scotland’s youth soccer pipeline. He represented his country at both U16 and U18 levels, then moved up to Kilmarnock’s U19 team in the Scottish Premiership. But it was his next move that would shape his future work —becoming an international student-athlete himself.
The American College Journey
Ross’s soccer skills opened doors across the Atlantic, landing him a scholarship at Olympic College in Washington state. His impact was immediate: 16 goals in just 13 matches. Those numbers caught attention, and he transferred to the University of Washington where he continued finding the back of the net— 30 times over three years.
Going Pro Around the World
After college, Ross’s passport filled up quickly. He signed with Kitsap Pumas in the United Soccer League, showcasing his talents in the American professional ranks. Then came the international opportunities: playing for Magic FC on Australia’s Gold Coast, and competing in Costa Rica’s top division with both Deportivo Saprissa and Brujas FC.
From Player to Mentor
While scoring goals on the field, Ross was also hitting academic targets. He completed his Business Management degree at the University of Washington, combining athletic achievement with classroom success —exactly what he now helps students achieve.
For the past decade, he’s turned his personal experience into opportunities for others. His student-athletes have reached impressive heights, earning spots at institutions like:
  • Harvard University
  • Stanford University
  • Yale University
  • Princeton University
  • MIT
  • UC Berkeley
  • Columbia University
  • Duke University
  • What Ross Brings to AddedEducation
As our new Deputy General Manager of Athletics, Ross focuses on:
  • Guiding athletes through recruitment and scholarship opportunities
  • Building international partnerships
  • Developing players both athletically and academically
  • Managing relationships with universities and coaches
  • Creating strategic plans for student success
  • Working with Student-Athletes
Ross knows what it takes to succeed as an international student-athlete because he’s lived it. From Scotland to America, from college soccer to the professional ranks, he’s experienced the challenges and opportunities firsthand. Now he uses that knowledge to help others pursue their own college sports dreams.
