Based between New York, Toronto, and Mumbai, she is the Founder and Executive Producer of Sherni Studios, a media collective dedicated to amplifying underrepresented female voices through impactful content and social activism in India.
Prior to founding Sherni Studios, Saniya honed her skills in the dynamic New York media landscape. As a Creative Producer at Honto88, she produced compelling content for renowned brands such as Netflix, Hulu, and the Women’s Philanthropy Institute.
Saniya’s passion for storytelling extends beyond the screen. She also worked as an Entertainment and Culture Producer for the largest digital South Asian Publication, The Juggernaut. Her background in creative writing and producing translated into thought provoking coverage as a journalist.
Within narrative film productions, Saniya’s short films have garnered critical acclaim, screening at prestigious international film festivals including the Berlin International Art Film Festival, the Chicago South Asian Film Festival, and the Toronto International Film Festival.
A skilled performer herself, Saniya is a classically trained Kathak dancer. She has choreographed for major productions, including Diljit Dosanjh’s North American Dilluminati Tour, which captivated audiences across thirteen cities within the United States and Canada.
Saniya’s artistic pursuits extend to the world of theater. She has served as a consultant for several Broadway productions, including the Tony Award-winning “Hadestown,” contributing her unique perspective and expertise to the creative process.

As a Performing Arts specialist at Added Education, she guides aspiring artists in their pursuit of higher education.
