Akshatha is a counselor, musician, and lawyer with a blend of creative and professional experience across the U.S., U.K., and UAE education systems. She graduated summa cum laude from Emory University with a double degree in Inernational Relations and Vocal Performance, and recently earned her J.D. from Brooklyn Law School, where she focused on transactional practice, especially within the community economic development context.

Having spent formative years across three continents, Akshatha brings a deep intercultural sensitivity to her work with students. Her counseling style is rooted in empathy, storytelling, and strategic thinking, supporting each student in developing portfolios and application narratives that reflect both their artistic depth and academic ambition.

With over two decades of classical training as a soprano, Akshatha has performed in operatic productions such as The Marriage of Figaro and La Bohème in Atlanta, and played the title role in Shakuntala, an original opera based on Indian mythology premiered at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. She has also had the honor of performing before renowned soprano Renée Fleming. As a singer-songwriter based in Brooklyn, she continues to create and perform, blending South Asian and jazz, neo-soul influences in her music.

At AddedEducation, Akshatha serves as a Music Specialist and Lead Counselor, working especially closely with creative students to nurture their artistic growth—whether that means reconciling musical and professional goals, curating meaningful portfolios, or simply encouraging them to keep making art.

When she’s not writing songs or supporting students, Akshatha moonlights as a lawyer for nonprofits and small businesses. She is passionate about movement lawyering, arts equity, and helping young people imagine expansive futures.
